Like a Salad

Written by S.F. Hardy

Illustrated by Navi Robins

Siblings, Aasir and Xolani, notice the nuances in skin tones amongst their family—proudly comparing their mother’s skin to the twinkling darkness of night. In this endearing story, the inquisitive siblings look to their grandparents for and explanation of the celebrated differences.

“I wanted to write a story that positively satisfied the curiosity of children who innocently ask, why family members are different colors.”
